It is not easy for me to share this message.  Most of the sharing that we hear are stories of how God has triumphed in their lives.  We seldom hear sharing by people who bare their souls in public, sharing about doubts, struggle against sin, unanswered prayer etc.

On 3 April 2013, I took medical leave.  It was a tough decision.  I could work on that day, perhaps at a productivity rate of 20%.  In any case, a decision was made to take “MC” irrespective of whether or not the boss would be happy about this.

That day was a day of prayer and sleep.   At 4.20 pm, there was a call on my mobile phone.  A colleague said that there was a situation in the office.  A client’s account was frozen by the company’s Information Systems and that I was the one authorised to unfreeze it.

My colleague and I discussed over the phone on the steps to be taken to unfreeze the account.  She informed me that the computer had no button to unfreeze the account.  The situation must be resolved by 5 pm (close of trading at Bursa Malaysia).  If the matter is not resolved, the client might complain.

The colleague said that she will have to report to the boss.  Hopefully, the boss will have a solution.  There was nothing I could do except to trust that God is in control of the situation.  This is not an easy step for me.  If we read the papers, God does not appear to be in control.  If we think of problems in life, it looks like God is not in control.

In this situation, I had to learn to not trust in my own human efforts.  I said a prayer and trusted that God is in control.  Despite the prayer, a pesky little bit of doubt remained.

To cut a long story short, the matter was resolved at about 4.45 pm.  The boss informed me that she was on good terms with the Head of Operations.  The Head of Operations can unfreeze the account and she helped my boss to resolve the situation.

Praise God!  Let us pray that we will always have the faith to know and believe that God is in on His throne.  He loves us and is in control of our lives.
