– God has great plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11)

– Eve (which means living), the first mother (Genesis 3:20)

– Woman birth pains increased (Genesis 3:16)

– Commandment #5: Honor your father and mother (Exodus 20:12)

– Position of mother & father worthy of RESPECT

– The commandment comes with a promise

– Promise: may live long in the land God is giving us

– We need to accept our past and our parents past

– Christ has forgiven us

– Honoring our parents for our own good, not for our parents
